Heating the “AVIAGLASS” plant

The plant specializes in the manufacture of glass for special use: in aviation, railway transport or armored glass. Since it was economically unprofitable to warm the entire plant, it was decided to create comfortable conditions in certain zones (zonal heating).

Problem

There are 2 types of zones that need heating: Workplaces and Technical zones. Any convection heating (heat guns, heaters with a fan) are not suitable, since the movement of dust is not permissible.

Solution

Infrared heaters are perfect for this task: they emit directional heat into the work area and do not cause dust to spread around the premise. For heating workplaces, we used the BILUX long-wave heaters of the “P” and “B” series, for the solution of heating in the technical zones – BILUX “Y” series was used.

Result

The system maintains the necessary temperature at each of the sites, temperature control is carried out by installed thermostats.

Do not install heaters yourself

Example. The workshop employees bought three of the most powerful ceiling heaters and installed them themselves at a height of 3 meters at the edges and in the middle of the room. It was still cold in the workshop.
When a specialist is involved in the implementation, he makes a heat calculation and selects the power and number of heaters, chooses the right places for installation.
In the workshop, it was necessary to hang five low-power heaters around the perimeter.
The specialist checks the heat losses and, if necessary, advises thermal insulation. In the workshop, it was necessary to insulate the floor.
The specialist takes into account the height of the ceilings and the proportions of the room. In the workshop, it was necessary to hang the heaters half a meter lower.
